The only snag is that it's not very well paid.) 2 a) a sharp part of something that holds or cuts things that touch it b) a tear in something made by getting it stuck on a snag ~2 v snagged, snagging 1 to damage something such as a piece of clothing by getting it stuck on something (Oh damn! I've snagged my stockings.) 2 AmE informal to try to get someone to notice you, especially when you want help (I'll try to snag the waiter next time he comes by.)
